Session Description:
Understanding HTML5 isn't just important to e-learning developers --- it's part of contemporary digital literacy. In this session, you'll get a crash course in HTML5 and the materials and resources for you to continue learning. As e-learning continues to evolve, the traditional skills associated with digital disciplines and multimedia will become prerequisites for all learning designers. HTML5 is the baseline skill for anything that is created in the digital world. The facilitator will start at the very beginning, explaining HTML5's place in the e-learning development stack. Very quickly, you'll delve into code and its meaning. You'll read and understand HTML very quickly. Once you understand the basic philosophies behind HTML5 coding, you'll be well prepared to work with code on your own.

Application on the Job:
Participants will be able to immediately use HTML5 to author work and tweak code produced by authoring tools.
Participants will be ready to work with advanced digital content that cannot be produced by traditional authoring tools.
